El Molar is a vineyard planted by José Maria in the early nineties. Preferring varietals native to Mediterranean Spain (over the French species that inundated southern Spain from the 1980s), Jose chose to plant local clones of Garnacha.
El Molar lies on some of the rockiest soils of the estate, at the base of a rock outcrop. The vineyard has a deep layer of river stones over a bed of limestone.
El Molar is fermented with whole bunches and aged in large format oak for 12 months.
